In a world full of chaos and overpriced dairy products, there is an echo hoping to break through the continuous ‘unexpected bagging area’ sirens. One man aims to bring his voice to audiences all over the country, about kicking gum and chewing ass along the way until he completes his mission…and he’s all out of ass to chew…
…wait wait wait…that’s not right…who wrote this script? Were they paid enough for this? Did they even bother proof reading it?...
Ok so, whilst we wait for the Writers Guild of America to confirm the edits, lets get down to business and focus on the music at hand - ‘Immolate Me’ by industrial metal fusion artist Neo Cryptid.
Now this is a name that I’ve seen floating around the scene for the last couple of months, and is one that gaining a reputation for being an insane talent that brings a even larger balls-to-the-walls sound to the scene( (this vibe in particular comes from Bradford’s own Shadow Fest Promotions who might be Neo Cryptid’s biggest fan)…and after listening to this, Shadow Fest and the masses aren’t wrong!
This track really was something else. Why its taken me so long to hit Neo Cryptid’s music is beyond me but I was blown away with this track alone, even more so when learning this is the work of one man. To put it simply – you know that cooler cousin you have that would turn up, eat your food, mess up your stuff but gave you legendary advice and a buzz of excitement when you saw them? That’s Neo Cryptid. Take Combichrist, Dead By April, Orbit Culture and Trivium and you get a taste of what to expect with Neo Cryptid.
I genuinely can’t rip this song apart to tell you what’s good about it…simply because ‘good’ wouldn’t do this track any justice when it comes to what its brings to the table both through the music and the vocals. There are insane guitar riffs, heavy-as-f**k drums, powerful vocals from both Neo Cryptid and its guest star Carla Elkapath of synth goth group Elkapath (who’s vocals add that extra layer of haunting goodness)…honestly, this track was incredible from start to finish.
Listening to this track alone was enough to tell me why Neo Cryptid is DEFINITELY one to keep an eye on this year as the track is a mere taste of the upcoming EP Agent of Chaos which will hit the ears of fans in June this year.
Folks – if you haven’t heard Neo Cryptid yet…do it. Just do it. You will not be disappointed by what is on offer.
